02/18/17: Federal Junior Duck Stamp Art Contest. 9am. Visitor Center. Public is invited to view the judging of the Maryland entries in the Federal Junior Duck Stamp Art Contest.
02/20/17: No fee for Wildlife Drive, President's Day Weekend
02/26/17: Bird Walk 8 a.m. with Harry Armistead (meet at the Visitor Center)
03/11/17: Blackwater's 17th Annual Eagle Festival. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitor Center. Experience live eagle and other birds of prey programs, Eagle Prowls and Wildlife Drive tours, programs for kids, wildlife exhibits, live bird exhibits, and food all day!
03/15/17: Application deadline for college scholarship submission.
03/26/17: Bird Walk 8 a.m. with Harry Armistead (meet at the Visitor Center)
04/08/17: Litter Pickup for Earth Day. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Volunteers are needed to help pick up litter on the Refuge. Meet at the Visitor Center.
04/30/17: Bird Walk 8 a.m. with Harry Armistead (meet at the Visitor Center)
05/12/17 and 05/13/17: Join Environmental Concern for their annual Spring Native Plant Sale at their nursery in St. Michaels, Maryland (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.). They will have an assortment of wetland, upland and shrub materials available. See their website in April for a list of species they will have at the sale. EC will also be presenting workshops each day as part of their Mid-Atlantic Monarch Initiative: Friday, May 12 - Milkweed Planting Workshop (10-11 a.m.) and Saturday, May 13 - Best Management Practices for Weed and Pest Control (10-11 a.m.).
05/21/17: Bird Walk 8 a.m. with Harry Armistead (meet at the Visitor Center)
06/03/17: Blackwater's 15th Annual Youth Fishing Fun Day. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fishing event for youths 15 and under; gifts, food, photos, fishing help and lots of fun!
