Blackwater NWR Yearbook
The Friends of Blackwater is an all-volunteer organization founded in 1987 to support Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge near Cambridge, Maryland. As part of our 35th anniversary celebration in 2022, the Friends have created a 45-page digital book (PDF format) showcasing Blackwater NWR through the seasons.
The book is suitable for all ages and features print-quality photographs of Rusty and Dusty (the popular screech owls), nesting eagles and ospreys, white pelicans on the river, the Milky Way in the night sky over the Refuge, landscape photos from all the seasons, and a variety of plants, birds, reptiles, and mammals that make Blackwater Refuge unique. It's a wonderful way to introduce children to nature, and it provides a treasured keepsake to enjoy when you're away from Blackwater.
The book is available for a $15 donation to the Friends of Blackwater, and all funds raised will be used to support the Refuge's biological, interpretive, and educational programs.
